Updates...

I have tons of niche ideas written on my little red book but a post over at BHW about autoblogging, tells me differently -- don't go with micro niche sites. Whatda?

http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/making-money/58572-auto-blogs-cracks-how-i-make-3k-month.html

According to the OP of this thread, go with high traffic topics - entertainment, gossip, news, funny pictures even. He did mention health too on a reply.

So right now I just got $1.07 for the last 7 days according to my adsense reports. Hooray for me :) A lot of people will say those are just pennies. But the way I'm not marketing my movie site and it's relatively new speaks volumes about how I'm getting traffic just for the domain keyword.

Well maybe it's just some backlash off my spamming efforts way back when. Let's just wait and see if it trickles down or picks up.

New updates? Well I have fixed a friend's blog hosted on my hostgator. Hope that picks up and he earns from his chosen niche.

I just bought a dot INFO site. It's a health keyword. I'm planning of putting tons of subdomains under it. $1.70. Quite cheap.

first, a bit of background...

I've been on the earn-online bandwagon for 3-4 years now -- and it's not earning enough for me to quit my day job... yet.

What's my excuse? Time management and utter lack of focus and concentration.

I have the coding skills to back it up.

I read a lot (which should translate to "I can write well" but sadly it doesn't).

I know a lot of things. Facts, boat-load of knowledge, unusable quiz show answers, etc.

Hell, I'm a well-rounded guy!

But it's not earning me shit.

Here's a recap of what I have done for the past 3-4 years:
1. Delved into adsense. Yep I was able to register for adsense back when it was not that hard. The websites I had it were, not really illegal, but bordering on it. I had a free ebook download site. It earned me a lot. Around $74 total. Fortunately that site has been closed by the big G. Why do I say fortunately? Well if it wasn't and I'm still earning on it, when it's time to cash my pay check then the big G would find out what my site is about and wham! I'm banned. So that's a good thing.

2. Registered for a lot of adult affiliates. Sadly I did not have a noteworthy site where I could run these adult ads. So what did I earn? Zip.

3. File sharing sites. Specifically Hotfile. This baby earned me a lot. Around $400+. But this is tedious. You need big bandwidth to upload then spam the hell out of newsgroups so people can download them. No I didn't spam the forums. That's more tedious than email spam. I got a auto forum poster for %15 though. I've yet to make it work for me. Signing up for the many forums is not my cup of tea.

Well those are the major ones.

I have also tried clicking ads - bux.to, etc. That really sucked. Seemed to coincide with the lowest point of my life.

So now what do I have?

Currently I have a hostgator hosting account running.

I have 3 domain names registered.

One is a personal blog.

One is for hi-fi sound systems.

One is for movies and tv series.

The personal blog is quite lengthy. I have a lot of posts there since 2006 (my journalling activities run much farther back but sadly I don't have a copy of those anymore). It's quite a technical blog with unix/linux/windows tips on it. No ads there yet. I'm currently looking for a viable theme for that that will look great.

The hi-fi domain is hosted on my friend's hostgator. I've yet to transfer it to my own (told you I'm lazy). I running reviews there of hi-fi sound equipment and serving adsense on it. Thing is I don't know shit about hi-fi stereo. My friend does but...

The third domain is something from my "file-sharing" days. I planned to make streaming movies and tv series available there. But that's illegal so right now I'm just doing showbiz news/gossip on it. The posts are quite stupid actually. It has wordpress heatmap theme. I monetize it via adsense, infolinks and bidvertiser and hostgator banners. The site is earning some cents.

Thing is I haven't done much for these sites traffic-wise. I haven't done any backlinking, link-wheeling, article submissions, blog directory submissions, search engine submissions. Zip.

I'm just banking on organic search. Very lazy...

Note: my movies and tv series site is on page 2 of google if you search for "movies tv series". Haha big deal.

I run a forum too. It's a local Pinoy forum. It's a file sharing site with some adult content and some discussion in local dialect. I won't use adsense on it of course or else risk being banned. And I'm sharing the site with 2 other online friends. I've set up a paypal account for that site. It's currently running just a hostgator affiliate banner and that's it. I'm still looking at PPC companies (bidvertiser and infolinks are looking good right now) to monetize it and pay for the hosting next year.

I have managed to test the PHPBB3 Advertisement Manager MOD on my test forum and it looks nice.

My plan is to run Adult Friend Finder PPC on the adult boards.

Bidvertiser and Infolinks on the other boards.

My only requirement for my ad servers are that they pay via Paypal or Epassporte. We can't do checks so Adbrite is out of the question.

Chitika is being stupid right now and it's taking a long time to approve my application.

So that's the recap of my past and current activities.

I plan to update this once in a while if there are major changes, both code-wise and earnings-wise.
